Once you click on a server, you'll be in a place we call "Lobby".

1. ROOMS

In the lobby, you'll find rooms some are playing while others are not. In order to join, just double click the room. You cannot enter rooms which are:

playing - This means you have to wait for the players inside to finish the song they're playing
locked - If you find a lock beside the room title, that means it has a password that you must provide in correctly before you can enter it.

Each room has a capacity of 6 players and 10 audiences. If you will enter a room which already has 6 players infront, you notice that your character will just be on the background--meaning, you are just an audience and all you can do is watch. Once there is an available slot infront, you could simply click on "join" so that you could participate on the game.

2. ROOM MASTER / DJ

The person who is in control of the room can be seen as the one who holds the DJ. He has the power to invite people inside the room, kick people out of the room, close slots, choose songs, choose the background, and choose the mode of each game. In order to be a DJ, you must create your own room, by clicking on "Create Room" in the lobby. While you are in the room, you may pass the DJ/Mastership to someone else by clicking "watch". The dj will automatically be passed to the second person who enters.

3. TYPES OF ROOM
Room titles can be seen in different colors. Each color will describe what type of room it is. The type of room affects the gameplay / mode of the game. You can select the type of room from the dropdown box, after clicking "create room".
White - means normal room / normal mode
Orange - Club dance
Pink/Purple - Ballroom
Yellow - Beat Up
Green - Beat rush
Violet - 1,2 party
Blue - Battle Party

4. SONGS

The songlist can be arranged alphabetically by song title or by artist. It may also be arranged according to the BPM (beats per minute). The BPM determines the speed of the song. The higher the BPM, the faster the music, therefore the more difficult it is. For beginners, it is best to start off with the slowest song which is usually around 80-90 BPM.

5. STAGE/BACKGROUND
As a dj, you will have the power to pick the stage. This the place where the characters are going to dance.

6. MODES

As mentioned earlier, Audition also has various game modes depending on the type of room. Each mode has a unique gameplay and I'm going to discuss them further on my future blogs. But for now, I'm just going to explain the "Normal Mode". If you are in the lobby, you could see the normal rooms are depicted by white room titles.

7. THE NORMAL ROOM / THE NORMAL MODE

Going further, the normal mode is like this. When the game starts, you will notice a horizontal bar with a moving bead. And there is this set of arrows below that bar. You will need to click on the set of arrows correctly in order before the moving bead reaches the flashing part on the bar. How to do this?

Use the numpad (make sure numlock is not turned on) to press the arrows, and the spacebar to time each beat.

UP = 8
DOWN = 2
LEFT = 4
RIGHT = 6
DIAGONAL RIGHT-UP = 9
DIAGONAL RIGHT-DOWN = 3
DIAGONAL LEFT-UP = 7
DIAGONAL LEFT-DOWN = 1
spacebar / ctrl = to tap the bead when it reaches the flashing portion

8. HOW TO MAKE SCORE

It is best to choose practice mode at first and choose songs which has the lowest BPM. Make sure you were able to press all the arrows correctly before the moving bead reaches that "flashing portion" on the bar. Tap the spacebar as soon as the bead reaches that portion.

Good luck!! Happy gaming!
